About the event
Join us in the first class of the new year in the Wild Herbal Series!
We will learn how to identify trees in the winter. Trees leave many clues as to their identification on the ground, in their bark, on new growth and even lingering fruits, seeds and nuts stuck on the branches.
Many trees provide medicinal benefits and we will discuss those plus create some herbal preparations.
Trees also provide delicious nuts and we will process a few varieties and make some delicious recipes.
This class will take place at the Portico Study Center but we may be taking a field trip to another woodland area with different tree species.
There will be a bit of walking for this class along with indoor classroom time.
